Asked by Kids
Asked by Kids is a global platform for arts-based, bilingual (Spanish & English) educational resources that are free, open source, and accessible to children worldwide. As a UX/UI and multidisciplinary designer, I focus on co-creating resources based on children's questions and ideas, using participatory design methodologies to ensure the content is inclusive and effective. Our work spans a variety of topics, including Covid-19, democratic processes, participatory budgeting, children's rights, and mindfulness practices, delivered through both digital and physical formats like interactive workshops and coloring books. By giving children a voice in the design process, we aim to create more intuitive, engaging, and accessible resources, addressing a common gap where children's perspectives are often overlooked in the creation of educational tools. All of our products were distributed free of charge across homeless shelters in NYC, including Women in Need, the largest shelter for families & kids in NYC.
